Significance of synergetics in the use of bibliographic databases on CD-ROM

Abstract

The phenomenon and importance of synergetics is examined for the co-utilization of bibllographic databases on CD-ROM media. The purpose of the experiment has been, as a first approximation, to prove that the cooperative use of multiple databases as a single unit can, due to the synergetic effect, lead also to qualitative retrieval improvement, in addition to its quantitative results.
